I was looking through all the illustrations that I’ve done in the past years and noticed a big change in my style and technique. This little boat is in Hyères port. I can ride my bike there. If you didn’t know, I moved to the South of France. Paris was killing me despite the wonderful cafes. I needed to move back to the South where the sun is. And to be surrounded by nature and the sea.

Learn to draw like a comic book illustrator

Every Saturday at 3pm
2 hours sketching workshop at the Brasserie Guillaume Tell in Hyères. 30 euro, payable onsite. Limited space available.

1 hour at a café.  

All materials are provided for the lesson. 

Food and drinks not included; consummation is obligatory to sit at the café.

What will you learn?

Learn line drawing, perspective, and composition. Learn how to create distance with line, how to use selective color, how to see shadows and light and much more.

Who is your teacher?

Angie is a professional artist, working and selling her art for 33 years. She is an American who has lived in New York, Florence Italy, Paris and now lives in Hyères.

Postcards from the Riviera

Life in the south of France is wonderful. After a year of life on the Riviera my hair has grown back and I don’t feel like I’m in a rush anymore. All that city stress has left me.

On Saturdays I host a cafe sketch session in the historical center of Hyères. Here are some of the illustrations that are available via my online shop.

Illustrations of my life in France are now available

In Hyères life is quiet. There is lots to do but the pace is slower than the big city Paris. People are kind and let you cross the street instead of threatening to roll you. People have time for you.

There are palm trees and beaches and sand and blue skies and stars. Lots of yoga classes. I even saw a budgie in a tree. There is a park with peacocks. The airport from Toulon is in Hyères.

The place feels like a mix between California and Italy.
