The ENS is the elite school. École Normal Superieur. In France they have this system of elite schools for all kinds of professions including decorative arts, biology, and all kinds of other things. If you are smart and square minded you can get into these schools but you gotta show results and have iron nerves. If you’re dyslexique or a hors classe best to find the way around.

It’s possible. My husband did it. He was never admitted but now the ENS biology students comptete for a space in his genetics classes at Institute Pasteur. He tells them, ” You are the creme de la creme and now I will whip you.”
