Opera Dog – 36×36 cm – oil on canvas – 2016 © Brooksby

One of the small format paintings that will soon be at the Carré d’artistes Saint Germain gallery in Paris.

The balustrade on the right of the dog is the railing to the metro stop. Carved into the stone is “Metropolitain.” The building in the background is the Palais Garnier– the opera. There is a fantastic gift shop and the palace is magnificent.

I’ve finished 33 paintings in the last two weeks, 11 this size. The others are smaller. My goal is to finish another 20 by next Friday then at least 4 more larger ones for the show.

I’m going to make a larger one from this image. More detailed.

Paris Art Web – Honfleur

Rosé
Rosé – Brooksby © 2014

Last weekend I was in Honfleur, close to where the Seine exits into the Atlantic. Honfleur’s sister city, in the United States, is Burlington, Vermont.

There are numerous art galleries, including Paris Art Web  gallery, which represents my work. I’m honored to be repped by Oscar, he’s fantastic.

Rosé, the above painting, was on my living room wall. But now it is in Honfleur. It’s a scene from a café in place Saint Medard, in Paris.

I’ve had mixed reactions to this painting. One client loved it except for the mobile phones. That’s the best part. It’s contemporary Paris. I also love the transparency of the wine bottle.

Two of the people in the painting are my friends. Beav, I’m looking at you!
