The Tabac is a French institution. And that goofy sign is the copy of a metro ticket. You know song Le Poinçonneur des Lilas by Serge Gainsbourg? He is also a French institution. I love him because he’s was an iconoclast. We need more iconoclasts in this world. What does he have to do with metro tickets? If you go to his gravestone in the Montparnasse cemetery you’ll see its covered with metro tickets because of this song.
