Here in my Gallery on the French Riviera I talk to you about my latest painting. Cafe Le Descartes. A nocturne Parisian cafe scene from my signature series the Blue Hour of Contemporary Paris. This cafe is on rue Descartes in the Latin Quarter. I have walked by this cafe often.
It’s going to be fun to be back in Paris for a visit.

On Friday December 1st, I inaugurated a Christmas exhibition of small format paintings in my atelier-slash- art gallery on the French Riviera. I invited 6 other artists. The show lasted 3 days and the artists who I invited sold 55 artworks at 100 euro each. Santa Claus came to them this year! And his name was Angie.

In 2001 I was living in Florence, Italy and I was painting Italian food. The first food painting was a celebration to Cacciucco, the complicated fish soup of Livorno. The painting won first prize in the Premio Italia and it was published on the cover of a Florentine art magazine. Twenty years later I’m painting French food and gilding them. I’ve decided to call them FOOD ICONS. Next time I’ll tell you when I began gilding.

Femminart

These buildings are in the town of Hyères. It’s the town where I now live and paint. I did this illustration as a demonstration during an urban sketch workshop. I will be taking it to the Salon Femminart if it is still available.
The art fair Femminart has 280 women artists and creators who will exhibit and sell their work for three days. The salon is visited by nearly 8000 people. Come see me. It’s in the Palais de Neptune in Toulon.
