I’ve always been in the right place at the right time. It’s true. I realized this years ago. Sometimes it doesn’t feel like it but then things evolve and I see why events happened to squeeze me into a decision.
For example, last year I had to get a job. It had been 35 years since I worked for someone… You can fill in the blanks.
What this meant was …
… leaving my atelier to the birds, Chicken and Baby Girl. I was fed up with marketing myself. Lots of creators I know are bogged down by this. Every person is their own entreprise. Creation time is eaten alive by, URSAAF, declarations, marketing, emails, na na na na. Can you hear the violin? You know the rap.
Zoom forward and I am back in the atelier, and at the right place at the right time. Why? Because I began working with a serious online gallery a few years ago. Now all the galleries are vying for the biggest slice of the web. And I have a great job teaching children that gives me a salary and enough time to paint.
My current project is to upload videos of my available paintings because a static image doesn’t do them justice.
